At Sciphyn, we aren’t just building a business – we’re disrupting an outdated industry.
Since 2009, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of robotic technology to help our customers maintain productivity, minimize waste, increase safety, and reduce liability. From our headquarters in Houston, TX we serve companies around the world; including, petroleum refineries, chemical plants, steel mills, and many more.
We use the best of cutting-edge technology and old-fashioned human ingenuity to get things done. That means we bring together equipment you couldn’t find anywhere else, along with skilled operators and technicians who can adapt to the unexpected. Both elements are crucial, as you can’t handle industrial services like ours without the right equipment. Likewise, years of experience have taught us that blueprints and schematics are never 100% accurate; there are always unanticipated obstacles and barriers that have to be worked around. Our dedication to excellence will ensure our customers are receiving the best.
What Happened to Scantron Robotics USA, Inc.?
If you knew us as Scantron Robotics USA, Inc. don’t worry, its still us! We are in the process of giving our brand a fresh new identity. As we work through the transition, you might notice the Scantron logo on some of our advertising material; we apologize for any confusion this may cause.
We hope you love our new name and look as much as we do. We are excited to continue serving you as Sciphyn, Inc.
Cutting Edge Technology
At Sciphyn, we use the best of cutting-edge technology and old-fashioned human ingenuity to get things done. That means we bring together equipment you couldn’t find anywhere else, along with skilled operators and technicians who can adapt to the unexpected.
Both elements are crucial, as you can’t handle industrial cleaning without the right equipment. Likewise, years of experience have taught us that blueprints and schematics are never 100% accurate; there are always unanticipated obstacles and barriers (such as leftover construction beams) that have to be worked around.
We deal with these problems by employing the best minds and equipment. Some features of our industrial tank cleaning robots include:
- Various robot sizes, ranging from 19 inches to 48 inches, constructed with stainless steel to resist corrosion even in caustic or acidic environments.
- Robots can be configured with brush or steel augers and blades. Attached equipment can spin, agitate, and feed onboard submersible pumps to remove sludge and debris.
- Sciphyn operators use overlays so to see in all directions and overcome unexpected obstacles or debris.
- An underwater cable system that utilizes military-grade equipment and has been tested to work reliably at a depth of 100 feet.
In terms of other equipment, an average project requires space for a 24 foot trailer, space for our proprietary dewatering boxes, and room for generators. That’s a much smaller footprint than a traditional tank cleaning crew would require, minimizing the disruption to your operations. We typically rely on customer-supplied polymers and cleaning chemicals when needed.
Unlike outdated conventional solutions, our services do not require dangerous confined space entry.
Innovative solutions that won’t disrupt your business operations. Keep your tank and facility in full operation while our DredgeBots do the dangerous work.
Choosing to schedule Sciphyn services prior to a scheduled turnaround allows companies to focus on critical repairs or maintenence without the distraction of additional contractors on site. Sciphyn has been able to reduce outage time by up to 25% by performing services before a turnaround.
Lessen Environmental Impact
Sciphyn’s proprietary water remediation process reduces the impact to the environment by recycling the tank’s filtered liquid contents water back into the tank, leaving only the solids for disposal.

Robotic Sludge Removal
Our Micro-Dredging sludge removal robots can clean in spaces where human divers can't; including submerged spaces with toxic chemicals or restricted access. We remove, dewater, and dispose of your sludge while you remain in full operation - no shutdown required.
ROV Visual Inspections
With our high-performance ROVs, we comprehensively evaluate and record the underwater structural condition of a tank or basin to evaluate structural integrity, corrosion, and sediment distribution. Our visual inspections include a full written report and recorded video documentation.
Using robots and sonar, we provide a detailed 3D map showing sludge and sediment distribution throughout your tank, pond or basin and a comprehensive report outlining all of the collected data. All of this can be done without shutting down.
Ultrasonic Thickness Data Collection
By combining our Micro-Dredging sludge removal services, ROV visual inspection, and U/T data collection capabilities, we provide all of the information an inspector will need for certain NFPA and API inspection standards without having to take the tank out of service.
